Learning Sequence:
1. Using the PowerPoint provided, introduce students to their task: You have been hired to create an advertising campaign to be published in the local newspaper. Your task is to convince people in the local community to take action to protect an insect species or ecosystem. The PowerPoint contains examples of campaigns and activities which students can complete using their whiteboards.
2. Use the ecogram to select issues and/or species students may be able to focus on. Create a list to choose from, and have students select topics individually or in small groups.

3. Using whiteboards or blank paper, have students draft their designs.
4. Use iPads or similar to create the designs. They may like to use Canva or another design platform. Alternatively, they can hand-draw their campaigns.
5. Present designs to the class and discuss their effectiveness. Have students give constructive feedback and reflect ways to improve their work.
6. Produce the final designs. If possible, have some or all showcased in the local newspaper, school newsletter, or Community Noticeboard.
